Pet Goats for Sale
First-time buyers
If this is your first time buying a goat, don't worry. We will help you learn how to take care of your new pets for a great experience with them. First off, goats are very social herd animals, so you will need to have more than one. They are very intelligent and thrive when they have an enriched environment such as toys (treestumps, platforms, planks, etc.) to climb on. You will also need some form of shelter from something as simple as an enclosed lean-to, to a small shed.
Does, Bucks, and Wethers - what's the difference?
Although some people do buy Does to have as pets, the majority of pet goats are Wethers (castrated males). Bucks (intact males) generally are not considerd for pets, as they tend to be more aggressive, very strong, and have a pronounced musky smell. As such, most bucklings are turned into Wethers after about three months. All kids have been disbudded and tattooed, and wethers have been castrated before leaving. Any goats older than 5 weeks have been given CD&T vaccinations, hoof trim, and deworming treatment (if needed). Our entire herd has been regularly tested negative for CL, CAE, and Johne's Disease.
